چکیده
Host range assessment for emerging invasive insects is a vital step toward fully defining the issues insect may pose. Spotted lanternfly (SLF) an species that rapidly expanding its presence in United States. The primary hosts facilitating this spread are tree of heaven, plant from SLF’s native range, and economically important winegrape. Black walnut also implicated as common host plant. This study investigated survival development SLF on diets included variety crop plants or absence heaven. following species, ‘Honeycrisp’ apple, ‘Reliance’ peach, silver maple, heaven were paired with winegrape black throughout study. had strong high diet alone, Survival parameters reduced all other pairings. In particular, peach treatment did not develop past third nymphal instar. A second experiment evaluated early late instar nymphs adult life stages three specialty crops – ‘Cascade’ hops, muscadine grapes, kiwifruit over two-week period. Nymphs survived longer than adults, first hops differing control treatment. stage best kiwi grape. Our results show only single sufficient complete development, while require additional nutritional quality survival.

Structure and Sensilla of the Mouthparts of the Spotted Lanternfly Lycorma delicatula (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Fulgoridae), a Polyphagous Invasive Planthopper
Mouthparts are among the most important sensory and feeding structures in insects and comparative morphological study may help explain differences in feeding behavior and diet breadth among species. The spotted lanternfly Lycorma delicatula (White) (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Fulgoridae) is a polyphagous agricultural pest originating in China, recently established and becoming widespread in Kore...

Antennal sensory units in nymphs and adults of the spotted Lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula (White) (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Fulgoridae), an economically important plant pest, are studied with scanning electron microscopy. Sensilla trichodea / chaetica type recognition is based on their external morphology and ratio of their size to diameter. The flagellum Bourgoin's organ is a complex sensory ...
متن کاملAdhesive properties of the arolium of a lantern-fly, Lycorma delicatula (Auchenorrhyncha, Fulgoridae).
The arolium in Lycorma delicatula is shaped as a truncated pyramid, tapering proximally. The base or the terminal area is corrugated, forming parasagittal wrinkles (period 1.5-5.0 microm), which are supported from inside by cuticular dendrites. Side faces of the arolium are made up of sclerotized dorsolateral plates. When claws slip on a smooth substrate and pronate, the dorsolateral plates div...

Spotted Lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula (White) is a recently introduced pest of Tree-of-Heaven, Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle in North America. Natural enemy surveys for this pest in Pennsylvania in 2016 recovered an encyrtid egg parasitoid from both field collections and laboratory rearing of field-collected L. delicatula egg masses. Both molecular and morphological data confirm that the...

Mealybugs were able to develop, survive, and reproduce on all four hosts; however, there were differences i...
